Words are hidden horizontally, vertically, and diagonally, running both forwards and backwards. Click or drag to highlight a word when you find it, and work your way through the entire word list to complete the puzzle. No download required, fully unblocked, and playable on any device.
The daily seeding means every player around the world tackles the same grid on the same day, making it easy to race friends or compare completion times. Whether you want a quick five-minute puzzle on your phone or a leisurely session at your desk, Word Search is a satisfying browser game that exercises pattern recognition and focused attention without any pressure.
How to Play
- Read through the word list on the side of the grid so you know exactly what you are looking for before you start scanning.
- Click on the first letter of a word and drag to the last letter. Release to submit — if the selection matches a word on the list, it will be highlighted and crossed off.
- Words can run in any of eight directions: left, right, up, down, and all four diagonals. They can also be spelled backwards, so keep that in mind when scanning.
- Found words stay highlighted on the grid, helping you see which areas have already been searched and narrowing down where remaining words might be hiding.
- Find every word on the list to complete the day's puzzle and share your time.
Tips & Strategy
Experienced word search solvers use a few consistent techniques to find words faster and avoid getting stuck staring at a wall of letters.
- Start with the longest words. Long words are easier to spot because they leave a distinctive trail across the grid. Shorter three- or four-letter words can hide almost anywhere, so save them for last.
- Look for uncommon letters first. If your word contains Q, X, Z, or J, those letters appear rarely in the grid filler. Find that uncommon letter and the word will be nearby.
- Scan in straight lines. Instead of jumping around the grid, run your eye along each row from left to right, then do the same along each column from top to bottom. A systematic scan is faster than random searching.
- Check backwards. Reversed words trip up many solvers. If you have scanned the entire grid for a word and cannot find it, try looking for its last letter and reading toward its first.
- Use the theme. The daily theme tells you something about what the words mean. If the theme is "ocean life," visualize the words before hunting — your brain is faster at spotting something it is actively expecting.
