Sudoku — Free Daily Number Puzzle
Sudoku is one of the most popular logic puzzles in the world, and you can play it free online right here with no download required. The classic rules are simple: fill a 9×9 grid so that every row, every column, and every 3×3 box contains each of the digits 1 through 9 exactly once. No arithmetic is involved — only pure deductive reasoning. Gloink Games generates a fresh Sudoku puzzle every day across three difficulty levels, so there is always a new challenge waiting for you whether you are a first-timer or a seasoned solver.
The game runs entirely in your browser, fully unblocked, with no account or app needed. A new puzzle drops each day at midnight, and the seeded daily format means every player on the same difficulty faces the identical grid — great for comparing solving times with friends. You can also use the pencil-mark (notes) mode to jot candidate digits in any cell before committing, just like solving on paper.
How to Play
- Click or tap any empty cell to select it, then enter a digit from 1 to 9.
- Each row, column, and 3×3 box must contain every digit from 1 to 9 with no repeats. Conflicts are highlighted automatically so you can spot mistakes quickly.
- Toggle Notes mode to pencil in multiple candidate digits in a single cell — useful when you have narrowed a cell to two or three possibilities.
- Choose Easy, Medium, or Hard at the start of each session to match your current skill level.
- The timer runs while you solve. Beat your personal best, then share your result with friends.
Tips & Strategy
Good Sudoku technique is built on a handful of core strategies. Even on Hard puzzles, a methodical approach beats random guessing every time.
- Scan rows, columns, and boxes. Before placing any digit, scan the entire grid for cells where only one candidate is possible. These "naked singles" are the easiest moves and they open up more options elsewhere.
- Use cross-hatching. Pick a digit — say, 7 — and look at each row and column that already contains a 7. The intersections eliminate boxes where 7 cannot go, often pinpointing its location in the remaining boxes.
- Look for naked pairs. If two cells in the same row, column, or box share exactly the same two candidates, those two digits can be eliminated from every other cell in that group.
- Fill dense areas first. Rows, columns, or boxes that already have six or seven digits filled in are the easiest to complete — start there to build momentum.
- On Hard mode, try hidden singles. A hidden single occurs when a candidate digit appears in only one cell of a row, column, or box, even if that cell has multiple pencil marks. That digit must go there.
Sudoku is a brilliant daily mental workout that sharpens logical thinking and concentration. Play the free browser game here every day, challenge yourself to finish faster, and enjoy a genuinely satisfying puzzle without any download or subscription.
